    How we’re supporting
     

    As makers and designers of street furniture we are conscious of our environmental impact. We care about the role we play, so we’ve been working on ways to help reduce our carbon footprint and help in the fight against climate change.

    We’ve teamed up with tree planting gurus, Ecologi, to replant trees in woodlands where some of the timbers we use in our products originate. 

    With this partnership and the help of our clients, we’re on the road to combating climate change and deforestation. Read on to discover what made us choose Ecologi for our initiative, how we are supporting their cause, and what we hope to accomplish in the future.

    About Ecologi

    Ecologi was founded in Bristol by a group of environmentalists who were driven by the frustration of not being able to make a real difference to the world’s climate crisis. Their goal is to make environmental issues more accessible, reduce 50% of global CO2 emissions by 2040 and plant billions of trees each year responsibly through the help of tree planting partnerships.

    Ecologi facilitates the funding of environmental projects from tree planting and renewable energy generation, to community initiatives such as providing access to clean water through different projects across Madagascar, Mozambique, Kenya, South America and Cambodia to name a few!

    How do Ecologi prove their impact?

    Ecologi measures its success through impact, with 80% of donations going directly to plant conservation projects worldwide. They have published evidence of their climate impact project publicly for you to see.

    Why plant trees?

    Apart from the proven health benefits in reducing stress and anxiety, trees reduce carbon emissions which help the environment by naturally absorbing carbon from the air and storing it in wood, plant matter and soil.  They also help to reduce the risk of flooding by slowing down heavy rain, enhancing air quality, and absorbing carbon from the atmosphere. 

    Almost 80% of the total deforestation is caused by agricultural production. By planting trees in places where they are cut down and the wood is used for furniture, building materials and paper, we are helping to reverse climate change and reduce deforestation – making for a healthier planet.

    How we’re supporting

    To get started we have committed to supporting key reforestation projects across Africa and South America – we plant trees for every sale of our street furniture and as a thank you we’ll credit your project/scheme in our digital forest.
